Kay Ranger
Kay’s interest in art led her
to take many courses. She was fortunate
to study under well-known local artists
and international watercolor and acrylic
artists, from Canada and the United
States.
She finds opportunities for learning;
meeting like-minded individuals and
gaining exposure are found through
artist run organizations. She is a
member of several artists’ groups
including Pontiac Artists’ Association.
Her paintings are in private collections
in Canada and in the United States.
Her love of nature is expressed through
her paintings and her main desire
is to portray the colors and textures
of life around her. She has a home
studio where she likes to experiment,
to explore the possibilities of both
the subject and medium, using watercolors
and acrylics to sharpen her creative
instincts.
Her studio “Secret Gardens”
is open all year by appointment and
for the 2nd and 3rd weekends in June
during the annual Pontiac Artists’
Studio Tour. She shows her work at
local venues in Ottawa, Gatineau,
Pembroke, Renfrew, Shawville, and
Campbell’s Bay.

Nancy Dagenais Eliiot
What a wonderful year
it’s been. So many new experiences,
new colours, new techniques, the wonders
of this amazing medium never ceases
to amaze me. My art allowed me to
travel a little last year. I spent
an entire week in Baie St-Paul with
ten other artists, exploring the country
side and sketching and painting with
a palette knife. I was forced to use
new colours and they took away my
brushes. This forced me out of my
comfort zone and I loved it.
I also spend a week in Tweed Ontario
with about 16 other artists exploring
the beauty and freedom of watercolours.
The fall colours blended into the
wet paints on my paper, it too was
a tremendous experience.
I participated in many CRCO workshops
such as event coordinating, communiqué
writing and watercolour and ink transfers.
They too have influenced me. In fact
I’ve organized an event. This
July 12 we are welcoming artists to
the Pontiac to come explore and paint
with us. There will be a vernissage
on the 16th of July if you are interested
in attending.
I believe that I have simplified
my art, I seem to be looking at larger
shapes and brighter shades, and I’d
say there is more contrast and movement
in my work. I am evolving again and
I don’t believe I’m done.
This coming fall I will be leaving
for Italy for a two week escapade
in Tuscany, painting with 8 others,
studying the masters and sipping some
wine (of course).
Hope you are excited about my new
work this year, I so enjoy welcoming
visitors to my studio. This is my
haven; this is where you can always
find me.

Stephan Scrak
Ravensfield, his home
and hobby farm, is located just outside
Campbell's Bay, Québec, in
a hamlet called Vinton. There he paints
and shares his surroundings with one
horse, four goats, five geese, seven
ducks, twenty-some hens, and a rooster
named Julian. Not to forget the dog,
Beauté, and two cats that help
in overseeing the place.
Stephan draws his inspiration
for his work from his longtime love
affair with Québec, be it Montreal
or the thousand small villages found
by following the church steeples.
He continues to delight his visitors
with his signature bright colours
and moving lines.
