THÉRÈSE BOISCLAIR
2 September – 4 October

Thérèse is known for capturing the atmospheric sensations of landscapes, Thérèse’s work is a fusion of bold acrylic colors and delicate tissue paper.
Her art is more than just visual; it’s an emotional journey, a choreographed dance of colour and light aimed at touching the depths of the soul. She invites you to delve into the true essence of abstract painting—an exploration of pure energy and emotion.
We look forward to having more of her smaller pieces in the Shop soon. In the meantime, don’t mss this very colourful show.

GERALDINE E. CLASSEN
Geraldine has been an artist for as long as she can remember. At the age of 21, she emigrated from the UK to Canada. In 1999, she became a resident of Mexico but returns each summer to the home and studio she and her husband Arnold have owned for fifty years on the edge of the Ottawa River in Portage du Fort. Geraldine was a founding member of artPontiac and contributed for many years to the promotion of art in the Pontiac.

Wherever she travels, her art reflects her experiences and love of colour. Inspired by history and love of place, her usual approach is to draw on location, directly on the canvas and to later develop the work in the studio. Working in acrylics, oil and collages to capture life moments, often incorporating photographs and found objects. Influenced by Matisse, Hockney and ‘The Fauves,
Geraldine notes it has taken many years of painting to develop her unique whimsical style.

Her work has been featured in publications, CTV Regional Contact, and J. Kimball’s book “The Joy of Art”. She has had several solo shows; and is an active member of and exhibitor with the Lake Chapala Painting Guild, in Mexico. She maintains a studio open to the public on weekends or by chance during the summer in Portage du Fort, as part of the Artistes de la Riviere (with Frances Shea). A number of her paintings have been awarded ‘Best in Show’ and first prize at exhibitions in both countries.
